3.7 – Airforce Setup

2022 – now

This setup I created for playing DCS World, the Digital Combat Simulator, which is a software that focuses on military flight operations and providing breathtakingly detailed aircraft models for about 20 years now.

Among the popular fighter jets that you can fly, there is also the F/A-18 Hornet, a multi purpose role jet, that can start from and land on carriers. It’s great fun to sit in a fully functional cockpit and operate all the buttons and switches… if you know how. 😀

To bring some of these controls out of the simulation into real life, I imported the Take Off Panel and the Combat Ready Panel by WinWing from China, which synchronize their lighted button states with the game. WinWing produces a lot of fighter jet controls with a great build quality. Their software, however, has room for improvement. On the tablet I run the Hornet UFC DCS app.
