3.5 – Helicopter Setup
2022 – now
Once I learned that helicopters will come to the Flight Simulator in 2022, I planned this configuration. I use the Virpil Mongoos T-50 CM2 Base, that I created a custom mount for, with the WarBRD Grip and the 20 cm Flightstick Extension. The WarBRD Rudder Pedals and the Rotor TCS Base with the Hawk-60 Collective Grip complete the setup. For the collective I created a custom mount that is non-desctructive, as are all mounts that I crafted.
After some testing I decided to go with the Heavy Springs and the linear CosmoSim – No Center Cams, which provide a wonderful stick feeling. When my helicopter is “parked in the hangar” I can pull over the side table with the throttle to cover the collective and store the pedals underneath the chair. Thanks to just two metal clamps securing the stick mount, it’s easily removable, too.
